Meet the Highway to Health Team!

Ben Sit
Host, Creator, Executive Producer
Ben is a Registered Dietitian, Sports Dietitian, former personal trainer and professional cook; Ben is in a Health Fanatic!  He graduated from Ryerson’s Nutrition and Food program, Sunnybrook’s Dietetic Internship and the Sports Dietitian’s of Australia’s Spots Dietitian Certificate. He’s also an active Marathon runner and Triathlete allowing him to combine his love of health, nutrition and physical activity together to help him and his clients life the healthiest and most balanced lives possible.  These combinations have allowed Ben to work with a variety of clients from the weekend warrior all the way to Elite, Professional, Olympic Athletes as well as Celebrities!

As a first generation Canadian from his Hong Kong & Cantonese parents; Ben is a Toronto Native with a unique perspective on the current health and fitness trends.  Being raised with traditional Eastern health practices and philosophies while receiving his schooling and professional training in Western medicine has really allowed him to see health differently.  Ben sees the current health, wellness and physical activity trends as a combination of Eastern and Western health philosophies.  Where others see conflict, Ben sees the opportunity to bridge these two worlds together to create new health practices that utilize both philosophies towards the next frontier of health.  His combination of East meets West is what has made his business thrive all across the GTA and Canada.

Colin Scheyen
Director, Executive Producer, Creator

Colin Scheyen is an award-winning filmmaker, author, and educator. Much of his work focuses on issues of media literacy and social justice. Colin's first feature documentary, Nuclear Hope, which discusses Canada's nuclear waste issues, won the Rising Star Award at the Canada International Film Festival and screen at over 10 festivals around the world. He received a B.Ed from the University of Alberta, a B.A. in English from the University of Calgary, and a M.A. in Educational and Cultural Studies from Athabasca University. Previously, Colin was the coordinator of the Studio2 program at East Metro Youth Services. This innovative program provides opportunities for youth who struggle with mental health and substance use to explore their own creative voice through film, photography, graphic design, and recording arts. Colin is the author of the book Beyond Media Literacy, which empowers school-teachers and community workers to incorporate multimedia projects into their classroom discussions.

Catherine Rose-Loveless
Associate Producer
Catherine is a Registered Dietitian and Yoga Teacher. She graduated with a BScAHN Dietetics from Mount Saint Vincent University and holds a BA Psychology from Saint Mary's University.
 
Catherine has worked in the field of nutrition for over 6 years providing clinical nutritional counselling, nutrition assessment, disease management, lifestyle management, weight management and menu development.

Catherine is extremely passionate about promoting nutritional wellness. As a Gluten Free Vegetarian Dietitian she is well versed in developing recipes and meal plans for clients with food intolerance, allergies and Vegan lifestyle choices. Additionally, she works with clients with disordered eating and body image issues - using a combination of therapies and yoga to create healthy eating habits and healthy body image.

Liam Kearney
Director of Photography, 1st Camera
Liam Kearney is a video producer and filmmaker compelled by stories of people and places. For Liam, filmmaking centres on trust-building, deep listening, and authentic human experiences.
 
Liam’s ability to apply this approach to his freelance work has enabled him to work with various clients, fulfilling their needs and adapting to their level of video production experience.
 
His ability to deliver quality content has led to the creation of viral videos, including Canadian Dance Moves, while also being featured on CBC’s Fresh Air and Toronto’s Metro newspaper for his work with Convenience Stories.

Ian is a director, filmmaker, and actor based in Toronto. IRAYBS FILMS is a full-service production company which Ian founded and runs that produces narrative work as well as client-based projects, working with companies such as Carstar Canada, Goodlife Fitness and Robi Skin Care. Wheather it is promo videos, music videos, Kickstarter campaigns, demo reels, self-tapes, weddings, travel films or high light videos, every aspect is covered. The award-winning "Please Partners" trilogy, a collection of horror shorts that Ian created and directed has recently toured the US film festival circuit, winning Best Director and Best Picture awards for each individual segment. As an Actor, Ian can be seen on TV and Film having roles in Murdoch Mysteries, Pacific Rim, Degrassi, Break Out Kings, and Commercials like Mcdonalds, Skittles, Nissan, Kraft Dinner and Audible. Whether as an Actor in front of the camera or working diligently behind it, Ian's vision is to bring unique, edgy, captivating, and inspiring stories to life on screen.

Moniquea 
Line Producer, Production Assistant 
Moniquea Marion is a Toronto based actor, comedian, and writer specializing in solo sketch and character comedy. She’s written, produced, and starred in 8 one woman comedy shows, one of which spawned, Mumsical, a one woman musical comedy about moms that debuted at the 2015 Toronto Fringe Festival.

Marion is a content juggernaut creating things for your eyes and ears. Last year she underwent an intense character project where she produced a new character video for every day of the year, yielding 365 character videos for her YouTube channel, Moniquea Marion 365.

On top of that, Marion is the voice and producer behind the podcast, F*ck Yes! A podcast that talks to cool people about their art and saying yes.

In 2014 & 2015 Marion was a nominee for Best Female Improviser by NOW Magazine. She was also a contender for Second City's Next Comedy Legend and a 2010 CBC Laugh Out Loud winner.

Marion is a graduate of the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in NYC and the Second City Conservatory in Toronto.

Production Assistant 
Nando is a young artist/filmmaker with a special interest in universal stories, especially those that can offer a fresh glimpse of life. After growing up in four different cities around the globe and graduating from the RTA school of Media at Ryerson University, Nando is ready to keep learning and exploring. With Highway to Health, Nando will be helping out with the production assisting of all things! He is excited to delve into the different health and lifestyle practices in Ontario and is more than ready to help make great content.

Chewbacca AKA Chewie
​Official Highway to Health Mascot
Chewie is the official Highway to Health mascot! The furry not-so-little goofball keeps morale high amongst the H2H team and he also helps Ben train by waking him up regularly at 6am - no matter what! You may see Ben and Chewy running together in Toronto or doing agility/ sprint training at a park.  Either way, Chewy keeps the atmosphere at Highway to Health fun and in good spirits.

Chewie is an 8 year old Chocolate Lab and will always bring a smile to everyone's face! Luckily all he wants in return is some belly scratches and the occasional healthy treat of carrots, sweet potato or ice chips! He also goes crazy for any other doggie treats! 

Chewie can often be a part of the Highway to Health shoots and events so be sure to say hi to him and make sure you've got some belly scratches for him!
